Try Henna and Tea in Marrakesh, Morocco!

Henna tattoo is very popular in Marrakesh, I think everyone wants to try just one time to see how it's like.

But asking at a lady on the street is a little risky. Does the henna have a good quality? Can she draw well? So we are taking you to a cafe where you can experience very safe authentic henna tattoo!

Henna art
Fist of all, henna is a name of plant, very common in the Northern Africa or India. They make powder with henna leaves and when you mix it with water, you will be able to dye your hair or draw pictures on your hand.

It's not permanent, it'll go away in a week, local ladies think it as one of cosmetics. Drawing pictures on your hand is usually called henna tattoo, but it 's totally safe and healthy, it'll be one of your good memories while travelling in Morocco.

Henna Cafe
This is Henna Cafe, located right in the middle of the medina in Marrakesh. They have a nice terrace on the upper floor and you will be able to experience henna art while having tea or coffee.

I'd like to share it with you here!

Ait Ben Haddou, a "ksar" which consists of many houses. Once it was a fortress.
Ait Ben Haddou, ksar, an old house complex

===========================

We have just returned from our day trip and I would like to compliment you on the driver you gave us, Mbarak.

He was very punctual, polite very kind to my brother as he cannot walk very fast and totally made our day extremely pleasant with his conversation and extensive knowledge of the history of his country.

He could not have done more for us and is definitely an asset to your staff.  We gave our trip 100% . While the scenery was very beautiful we all agreed we were very lucky that we got such a nice person as a driver. Thank you very much .
Excellent day!

Visit Hassan II Mosque in Casablance, the Biggest Mosque in Morocco

Casablanca is not a destination for tourists but if you have a time to stop by there, try to visit Hassan II Mosque along the Atlantic Ocean. It has the highest minaret (tower of mosque) in the world and actually, 25,000 people can pray in this mosque at the same time.

This is a rare opportunity to see such a huge mosque. Built in 1999, by the former king Hassan II. To get inside, join a guided tour provided by the mosque.

To get to the Hassan II Mosque, you need to get through a heavy traffic jam in Casablanca. This is the Mohammed V Square, the center of the city. Tramways are being built, but it doesn't seem like helping the traffic problems :-)

Cascades d'Ouzoud, Haven from Heating Marrakech!

It's getting hotter and hotter in Marrakech!
If you stay there a little while, you may need a break from the heat.

Cascade d'Ouzoud is 2 or 3 hours drive away from Marrakech, you can see huge water falls there!
Green mountains around the great falls are also so nice to walk around.
It's time to spend some relaxing time in Cascade d'Ouzoud!

To get to Cascade d'Ouzoud, go north from Marrakech. The mountain view is very different from Atlases and also very beautiful.

Walk a small mountain street to get to the waterfall view point. Nice to walk along, local restaurants and gift shops are on your right and left. Orange juice is also popular here, like Djemaa el Fna in Marrakech.

Looking up the waterfall. In the weekend, a lot of local people visit here to feel the cool breeze from the waterfall.

Down there in the river, you can enjoy boat riding. It's a good idea to stay overnight here for camping!

There's a way to look down the waterfall. Both views are amazing!

And tajine lunch in a local restaurant. This is a kefta (meatball) tajine. Keep an outdoor table under the tree and enjoy your lunch or tea!

Getting hotter and hotter! We'll let you know another nice break from the heat in Marrakech. Imlil is at the foot of the Mount Toubkal, the highest peak of High Atlas, and you can enjoy a short hiking for a day.

When you get out of Marrakech, the first stop is here, Lake Lalla Takerkoust. It's a small, quiet lake. If you stand by there, you can enjoy cool breeze coming from the lake. Popular destination for local people in Marrakech, cozy restaurant is just along the lakeside.

You'll get through Berber villages to get to Imlil, and you can find a stork and its nest along the way.

Looking up high white Mount Toubkal, Imlil trekking starts here at Imlil village. A guide will show you how to walk or you can take a mule ride just as you like.

Having a tea break under the green trees is also a nice idea.

Moulay Brahim Gorge is a place you can enjoy the view while driving. Bigger and wider than Dades or Todra Gorge, another fascinating scenery in Morocco.

You can take a break in Asni Village. This is the start and ending point of amazing Atlas world.

Ourika Valley, Fascinating Break from Marrakech!

The summer is coming! If you want to be a little away from the hot weather in Marrakech, a day trip to Ourika Valley is a great choice.
The view is amazing, the weather is nice, and it's just one hour drive away from Marrakech!
You just can't believe you're in the same region of the same country.

Right after you get out of the Marrakech town, you'll be in a beautiful Kik Plateau, with amazing panorama. You'll see quiet Berber villages here and you can stop by at one of them to have a tea break.

Once you get the Ourika Valley, you can feel cool breeze from the quiet stream. An ideal place to spend a sunny summer day.

Have some tea or lunch along the stream, in the shade. Local Morrocans also love to come over here to be away from the heat in Marrakch.

On the way back, outside of Marrakech, you can see some pottery factories. Tajine pots made here spread out to shops in Marrakech or all over Morocco.

The day is getting over. The afternoon sunlight in the mountains is gentle and beautiful.

Walk in Dades Gorge -- Rivers, Rocks, Kasbahs are Waiting for You!

Just between the desert cities Merzouga and Ouarzazate, you can enjoy beautiful nature of oases and Dades Gorge is the most popular one. Look down the valley, walk along river. You'll see it's hard to leave here just for a day. Stay overnight if time allows!

If you see this small river, you just can stop getting down to walk around. Bring a local guide to find the way.

Green and flowers! This is another best part of Morocco, away from deserts and medinas.

Local people call this monkey rock. Or someone's face? Or elephant?

Amazing views of art of rocks. You can actually feel the wave of ocean.

Berber villages are here and there and among them huge kasbahs still exist just like ruins. The sceneries should have been the same for centuries.

More about Desert with Merzouga 4WD Driving!

Desert camping with camel is not the only attraction in Merzouga.
If you get in there with a 4WD car, you'll fine more about amazing desert nature.
Let's go deep into the desert with us!

Petrol station with a supermarket in the desert. Our 4WD with filled petrol will take us to the desert, with no one around!

Some people have heard about this strange place. There's a big lake in the middle of the desert and you can see birds arrving here, sometimes it's flamingos. No tree. Only some short grasses are around there.

Stop by an African village to enjoy gnawa music show. Gnawa is an African Islamic traditional music and now it's quite popular in Morocco.

When it rains, there's a river here. But usually, it's just dry like this, something called wadi (dried river).

Over the great view of the dried river, local boys are selling stones and minerals on top pf the hill. Precious stones and minerals are local specialties of this area.

Modern Merzouga town was firstly developed by European military. Now the town was moved and the old place is still there just like ruins.

Here's a big mine in the desert. Various kinds of precious stones are minerals are digged and processed here.

This worker has very specific skills of taking our precious stones. You can actually see how they work.

Time for lunch! Berber tent is cool even in the shiny desert weather.

Salad, brochette (broiled meat) or tajine are served here. Very relaxing afternoon time is passing in the shadowy Berber tent.

And a long driving before you get to the Merzouga town. There are no roads and no signs in the desert but the drivers somehow know how to get the right directions. They are naturally trained in the desert.

Walk on the Fossils in the Desert!

Our city Erfoud is world-famous for its fossil mines & quarries, and small factories in town are processing fossil stones everyday to make tables, trays, and accessories.
If you have a chance to stay in Erfoud, please experience the fossil world!

Many of the fossil processing is still a hand-made work. If you go to one of the factories, you can actually see how the stones are cut, and how to shape tables and trays.

Gift products are sent to shops all around Morocco from Erfoud factories. None of them has the same shape or the same pattern. if you buy one, that's the only one in the world!

When you go ahead to mines and quarries in the desert, you'll see big mountains and sometimes kasbahs which were built long time ago. This one was made for some kind of military purposes. It's totally a ruin but we can still get to the half of the watch tower.

Near the mines and quarries, you can find a traditional Berber style guesthouse. Have a tea for a break!

Near the quarry, ancient ammonites and squids are everywhere, just under your steps.

Sunset in the desert is always amazing, the sky changes the color a little by little. You can feel lucky just by seeing these beautiful sunsets.

Enjoy Erfoud with us!
